Sample Recipe From Great Herb Mixes You Can Make

The Good Seasoning Blend is a tasty combination of herbs for soups, stews and chicken, park and beef roasts. Use 1-2 tablespoons of Good Seasoning Blend for a pot of stew or roast, usually adding the seasoning in the last 30 minutes of cooking time. All the ingredients used for this recipe should be dried, not fresh. This recipe makes enough to share with friends and family, or to sell at the local craft fair or green market.

Good Seasoning Blend Ingredients

  • 2 cups onion flakes
  • 3/4 cup celery flakes
  • 1/2 cup marjoram
  • 2 tablespoons sage leaves
  • 1 teaspoon garlic granules
  • 2 broken bay leaves
  • 1/2 cup basil
  • 2 teaspoons thyme
  • 4 cups parsley
  • 1 cup rosemary

Good Seasoning Blend Directions

  1. Blend all the ingredients to a fine powder using either a blender or a food processor.
  2. A coarser version of the seasoning blend can be made using a mortar and pestle to blend all the ingredients by hand.
  3. Store in an airtight container until ready to use.
  4. Place smaller amounts of the seasoning blend in zip-lock bags, to sell, or to be used as gifts
